Assessment for HLTA Status

The Process
1. Completing written tasks.  These are accounts of normal activities, snapshots of candidates’ work with:
• An individual
• A small group
• A whole class (ideally without a teacher present)
• Plus five other shorter accounts of situations
• Assigning actions to each standard

2. Compiling a portfolio of evidence.  Documentary evidence clearly matched to the standards.

3. A half-day visit from an assessor to verify that the candidate has met all the standards.
